HP EliteBook 2530p and HP EliteBook 2730p Released

HP EliteBook 2730 Tablet PC
HP just anounced the new series laptop wich will be released on September this year, The EliteBook 2530p Laptop (MIL-STD 810F tested for dust, altitude, and high temperature) and the EliteBook 2730 Tablet PC which has been designed to be more durable than its predecessors. The Notebook series uses Intel’s latest Core 2 Duo ULV (same as X301 and probably MacBook Air refresh), and it’s well, loaded. One of our favorite things about it is that it’s got more storage options than any other notebook.
HP is also offering improved ULV (up to 1.2GHz) and LV (up to 1.86GHz) Core 2 Duo processor options and faster, 1.8-inch 5400RPM hard drive (up to 120GB), 80GB SSD, and Qualcomm’s Gobi dual EV-DO / HSPA wireless option for near-complete WWAN support globally. The 2730p continues to maintain the legacy LED-backlit display, “Night Light” keyboard lighting, optional webcam (with business card reader), slice battery (up to 10-hours), and expansion base / docking station. Importantly, the stylus no longer slips out of the silo when carrying the 2730p through the cubicle farm. The 2530p offers pretty much the same in a thinner (0.99-inches vs. 1.11-inches thick), lighter (3.19-pounds vs. 3.74-pounds), more traditional laptop design.

The toughness doesn’t end at the surface: the design of the display hinges makes them less prone to pressure. It’s not surprising that this model has been certified to the MIL-STD 810F military specifications. The HP Elitebook 2530 is light (3.2lbs) but it can receive up to 8GB of memory (2X4GB).
It also has all of the usual HP business stuff like a biz card reader, lots of security and encryption tools, and the trackpoint nipple if you don’t like trackpads. Display is LED-backlit and you have a few different battery options. And hey, besides being touch, we’re always sort of a sucker for brushed metal.
