Samsung AMOLED Notebook

Samsung just announced a prototype of a 12.1-inch OLED Notebook with a WXGA AMOLED display–the largest in size and resolution among AMOLED displays.
Samsung 12.1 Inch AMOLED Laptop Concept comes equipped with a keyboard that has a similar keys on a mobile phone. This thin laptop concept features a thin AMOLED display with 1,280 x 768 display resolution, it seems to be an ultra-thin laptop with touch keys–I just hope those keys have tactile feedback; can you imagine typing for hours on a touch keyboard without feeling anything? Tough. It even has a kickstand at the back. Since the laptop is uber-thin, I presume it’s to prevent it toppling over due to the slightest winds.
The OLED laptop, of course, would lower the costs and processes associated with production, and would most probably (based on the nature of OLEDs, at least) consume less energy than ordinary notebooks. Samsung doesn’t stop there though. Samsung claims it was able to develop a transparent OLED screen technology very similar to the ones used in the movie. Suddenly, science-fiction isn’t so fictitious anymore. As to when the technology would be available to the public, we have no idea. AMOLED displays are still mighty expensive though in comparison to vanilla LCDs, so it will take a fair number of years before it becomes mainstream.
