The Daewoo Lanos comes in both 2 door and 4 door options. The Lanos is a fun filled car to drive and is very reliable. The Korean automotive industry started in 1937 with the establishment of the National Motor Company on the site of Daewoo’s Pupyong Plant. In 1962 the company was renamed Saenara Motor Company. In 1965, Shinjin Industrial Co. (maker of Korea’s first sedans named “Shinsungho” at the site of Daewoo’s Pusan Plant) acquired Saenara’s Pupyong Plant, established a technical collaboration agreement with Japan’s Toyota, and renamed itself Shinjin Motor Company, Ltd.
In less than five years Daewoo’s ambitious planning came to fruition when the Lanos assembly line started production for the Korean market in November 1996. The Lanos assembly line opened in December. And the Leganza assembly line started in February 1997. Shortly afterward, the Nubira and Lanos assembly lines commenced production for the European market. In 1998, Daewoo Motor America was formed to start marketing Daewoo products – under the Daewoo name – in the United States.
